The refugee crisis spreading across Europe is challenging our thinking on many levels. Who started this? Where will it end? Who's to blame?
One way to look at it with new eyes is to see that because everything is interconnected, what happened in Iraq has now created consequences all the way over to Syria.
One thing we might learn from this is that, however we may wish to ignore this fact, we are one global community.
If this were true, our response would be incredibly compassionate. Not only would we see our responsibility for what has happened, but we would now take new responsibility for how to fix it, and prevent it from ever happening again.
